One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church
The Catholic Church is Trinitarian and defines its mission as spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, administering the sacraments, and exercising charity through the spiritual and corporal works of mercy. Catholic worship is highly liturgical, focusing on the Mass, in which the sacrament of the Eucharist is celebrated. The Church believes that when consecrated by a validly ordained priest the bread and wine used during the Mass become the body and blood of Christ through transubstantiation. The Catholic Church practices closed communion and only baptized members of the Church in a state of grace are ordinarily permitted to receive the Eucharist. It holds the Virgin Mary, as mother of Jesus Christ, in special regard and has defined four specific Marian dogmatic teachings, namely her Immaculate Conception without original sin, her status as the Mother of God, her perpetual virginity and her bodily Assumption into Heaven at the end of her earthly life.
The Mission of St. Mary Immaculate Conception Church is:
To promote and fulfill the mission of the Catholic Church given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ.
The mission of the parish is to be an evangelizing community. Our goal is that each Catholic within our parish territory will come to know Christ in a personal way. We will foster the means so that each member of our parish will experience a personal encounter with the Risen Lord. We will provide for everyone - both children and adults - a well programmed, systematic and gradual catechesis. St. Marys wants to become a family of families, a community of communities, where parishioners will share their faith. We are centered in the Eucharist as font and summit of our Christian life.
God loves a cheerful giver!
